Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Electrical Trade Test Simulator. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
In these terms:
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or legal guardian’s permission to use the Service and agree to these terms.
You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering, and must keep your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account with others, and to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use or security breach.
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate any account at our sole discretion where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abuse, or violation of these terms.
Individual subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Paystack, our authorised payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise us, via Paystack, to charge the payment method you provide for recurring monthly fees until you cancel.
Subscription fees are stated in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of any applicable Value-Added Tax (VAT). Fees are subject to change with at least 30 days’ prior notice; price changes will only apply at the start of your next billing cycle following the notice period.
Institutional subscriptions are governed by a separate service agreement between us and the institution. Seats assigned to learners by an institution are subject to those agreement terms, in addition to these Terms of Service. Learners using institutional seats may not modify subscription, billing, or account deletion settings; those actions are managed by the institution.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until that date. We do not refund the current billing period upon cancellation, but you will not be charged for subsequent periods.
Refunds may be considered at our discretion in exceptional circumstances (such as a verified technical fault preventing meaningful use of the Service for an extended period). Refund requests should be sent to support@tradetestsim.co.za with sufficient detail.
If a recurring payment fails, we will, via Paystack, attempt re-authorisation in line with Paystack’s retry policy. If payment is not successfully collected, we may suspend or terminate access until payment is restored.
The Service is provided for the practice and educational purposes described on our website, primarily preparation for the South African electrical and millwright trade test and related curriculum content. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational use.
You may not, and may not permit any third party to:
All content, code, designs, validation logic, reference schematics, written test questions, and other materials forming part of the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws of South Africa and international treaties.
Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for the duration of your active subscription, solely for the permitted use described above.
You retain ownership of any content you create using the Service (such as your specific wiring attempts), but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process and store such content as necessary to provide the Service to you.
The Service is a practice and educational tool. It is not an official assessment, accreditation, or certification, and does not substitute for the formal trade test administered by the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB) or any other accredited assessor.
We do not guarantee any specific learning outcome, pass rate, or trade test result. Your performance in any official assessment depends on factors beyond our control, including your study effort, prior experience, and the specifics of the assessment on the day.
Circuit reference content reflects standard SANS 10142 and IEC 60617 conventions used in South African electrical training. While we take care to ensure accuracy, we cannot guarantee that every reference exactly matches every specific assessment scenario. You should always consult official curriculum materials and your accredited training provider for the most authoritative content.
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may, without notice, perform maintenance, updates, or fixes that temporarily affect availability. We are not liable for any losses arising from such interruptions.
We may modify, add, or remove features of the Service from time to time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that may significantly affect your use.
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law:
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your violation of any law or third-party right, or your misuse of the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account from the account page. Deletion is permanent; we cannot restore deleted accounts or data after processing.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these terms, engage in fraud, or for any other reason we reasonably determine necessary to protect the Service, our other users, or our legal interests. We may also terminate inactive accounts (no login activity for 12 months or more) with reasonable notice.
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give you reasonable notice via the email associated with your account or a notice in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after notice constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right under these terms is not a waiver of that right.
